From Parking I descended the gravel Rd 0.09 Mi. where I found a faint herd path leading up the hill. The faint herd path petered out and I bushwhacked directly to the open ridge. Great views of the Uncanoonuc Mountains to the South. There is an illegible and unlisted benchmark marking the summit.
Gravel Road - Faint herd path = 0.09 Mi.
Faint herd path - start of bushwhack = 0.5 Mi.
Bushwhack - Summit = 0.5 Mi.
NOTES / COMMENTS:
The Topo map above is inaccurate and doesn't show Quimby Mountain Road or the Cul-de-sac. The image below was taken from Google earth and much more up to date. The red polygon marks private property. A clear and definite trail leads into the woods heading in a Northerly direction however, the trail heads directly towards the posted property. Property is not posted from the Quimby mountain side only the Road side.
The image below shows the bald Quimby Mountain summit (just behind the pine tree) and a great view of the Uncanoonuc Mountains to the South.
